Rhubarb Rose Smoothie


This Vata-Balancing smoothie holds sweet, sour, and pungent tastes. It’s a good one for Vata doshas during the summer. You can pair it with a meal, have it in the morning, or as a refreshing afternoon pick-me-up. It’s also a nice one for Pitta dosha, since the herbal rose component cools the body.



  • 1 frozen banana, chopped

  • 1/2 cup frozen rhubarb, chopped

  • 2 tbsp hemp seeds

  • 2 tbsp rose water (or 1 tsp rose powder)

  • 6 oz unflavored plant-based yogurt

  • 1-2 cups coconut milk



  1. Place all ingredients in a high-power blender

  2. Blend for 1 minute

  3. Check consistency (more milk will make the smoothie more liquid-like, less will keep it thick)

Serves 1-2
