Masala Chai Smoothie

Haus of Ojas Recipes | Masala Chai Smoothie Bowl.jpg

This smoothie bowl is a cozy blend of aromatic, warming flavors like vanilla, cashew, pear, and of course, chai. This smoothie is as good served cool as it is warmed up. That’s right, you can warm up any smoothie. In fall and winter, I rarely have smoothies, but if I do, I warm them up. It’s a good way to stay aligned with the season and it inspires me to be creative with warmth-evoking smoothie flavors.

  • 1 frozen, chopped banana

  • 1 handful frozen, chopped cauliflower

  • 1 frozen, chopped bosc pear

  • 6 oz. (1 individual container) cashew milk yogurt (or your choice yogurt)

  • 1 tbsp cashew butter

  • 1 tsp masala chai spice (not the tea)

  • 1 tsp vanilla (powered, or liquid extract)

  • Cashew milk

Toppings –

  • Fresh banana, cacao nibs, additional cashew butter, and pinches of chai

  1. Blend all of the ingredients in a high-power blender for about 1 minute

  2. Check consistency and blend more as needed (adjust the amount of liquid to desired consistency)

  3. Pour mixture into stove-top pot and warm through (until you see bubbling and steam), this step is optional, but highly recommended to make your smoothie more seasonally appropriate

  4. Serve in a bowl, or glass and add desired toppings
